輔世慈善基金會以「輔仁以慈，兼愛助世」為理念，致力於擔任年輕學子的引路人。除了以獎助學金幫助、鼓勵處境不利但仍積極向上之弱勢家庭子女外，更多方提供能提升其軟、硬實力的資源，讓莘莘學子有更多翻轉自身階級的能力與機會。

　　線上英文課為輔世積極推動的主要企劃之一。英語對於提升個人競爭力、滿足日常或學業所需，是十分基礎但重要的能力，然而許多輔世資助的孩子並沒有太多額外學習英語的資源。尤其是聽、說方面更是需要良好環境才能有好的學習效果，而其通常需要頗高的成本來營造。基金會注意到了這個情況，於是便有了線上英文課的計畫，廣邀願意擔任志工的老師，在配對學生後，開始四個月為一期的課程。課程採極小班制（通常為一對一），每周上課一次、一次一小時，內容會針對學生需求客製化而成。

　　截止目前，基金會已經連續舉辦了12期線上英文課。來自世界各地的志工老師無償參與這門課程，與基金會一同協助學生突破原生條件及物理距離的藩籬，提升聽、說、讀寫各面向的英語能力，更拓展了自身眼界，對此我們致上最為誠摯的謝意。這樣的公益課程使基金會能更加全面地幫助孩子，不僅授人以魚，也授人以漁，提供給孩子一輩子都能帶著走的技能。

　　這學期是輔世第一次邀請志工老師們撰寫心得，我們收到許多老師分享在課程中得到的喜悅與感動（節錄自期末問卷心得）：

Teacher Calvin He:

I am very greatful for the ample amount of opportunities that the foundation has provided for me to be more involved with the Taiwanese community. And in the process of volunteering, I feel that I have developed genuine connections and friendships with my students for which I am also very grateful for.

Teacher Christina Wu:

Being a volunteer English teacher has been one of the most rewarding experience. It is especially fulfilling when I see that my students are becoming more confident in conversing in English and knowing that I was able to help support their growth. Teaching is a two-way process and I’ve also gained new perspectives from my students’ lives and the stories that they have shared with me.

Teacher Jeff:

I would like to thank the Grand World Compassion foundation for granting me such a great opportunity to work as a volunteer English teacher for the foundation. The journey has started since the April of 2021. It gives me not only the privilege in growing with many young talents, but also the pleasure in sharing my perspective of how learning English as a second language could broaden your horizon and enrich your life.

I know we’re making a difference when I see confidence on their faces…… I am proud the program goes way beyond just to learn a second language.

Teacher Ella:

和學生聊天很開心，從一開始都是我在講話，到後來學生也開始和我聊他的生活，發現可以用最簡單，最普通的英文單字就可以，也不需要文法多好，彼此聽得懂就可以，學生有了很多信心。

　　線上英文課不僅是提升自我的一堂課程，也是老師與學生們能建立起奇妙連結的地方。學生在老師的耐心關懷、鼓勵下，逐漸累積對於英語的興趣與自信；老師也能在與教學中，感受到學生進步的欣慰與感動；師生也都會在互動交流中闡述與傾聽各式各樣有趣的故事，即使彼此從未實際見過面，卻能像知心好友一般聊心事、分享生活中的煩惱與喜悅。

陳鈺頻－Ella嚴惠梅老師：

Through daily communication, I know the local language and improve my listening and speaking skills.

我覺得在上Ella老師的英文課讓我感到很開心還有收穫很多，老師藉由比較簡單的單字讓我了解他所敘述的情境，可以讓我增加我的口說能力還有聽力，我從老師的對話裡試著理解，還有學習如果將自己的想說的用英文說出。

邱靖雯－黃珍珮老師：

Through the dialogue, I dare to speak English more！ Usually combine the content of news reports to make the course closer to life.

變得更敢說英文！其實我一直覺得我英文很差，但上完課發現其實我只要敢說就會進步很多！

蕭宇廷－Teacher Jasmin：

Jasmin improves my pronounciation a lot. She also gave me a lot of music collections to listen to. In this class I learn not only English but also music appreciation.

許博翔－Teacher Jeff：

Training our speaking skills and making us be confident when we talk with foreigners.

這一學期，課程延續使用講出自己心裡所想的內容的方式進行，我認為很棒！因為傳統台灣學生讀寫的能力都很強，但是講的機會很少，在這堂課每個人都有發言的權利，可以講出自己的心聲。

　　隨著線上英文課即將邁入第13期，有越來越多學生希望能加入這堂課，提升自身英語能力，為此我們需要召募更多的老師以維持極小班制之品質與成效。
